SAKELIGA MEMBERSHIP, PRIVACY AND WEBSITE USE POLICY

1. DOMICILIUM CITANDI ET EXECUTANDI

1.1 Sakeliga’s nominated domicilium citandi et executandi is Building A, 5th Floor, Loftus Park, 416 Kirkness Road , Arcadia, Pretoria, 0007.

1.2 Disputes regarding membership arise for jurisdictional purposes at the above nominated address.

 

2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP

General

2.1 Joining as a member involves agreeing to Sakeliga’s terms and conditions of membership and privacy, as set forth in this policy.

2.2 Membership involves funding Sakeliga to pursue its goals. Members are not entitled to any benefits. Sakeliga is not contractually obligated to offer benefits to members, but does so at its discretion and to the best of its ability.

2.3 Members do not have voting rights at Sakeliga meetings.

 

Membership levels

2.4 Supporters

“Supporters” refers to persons who make financial contributions to Sakeliga, of a minimum of R100-00 per month, which amount can be adjusted by Sakeliga from time to time.

2.5 League Members
“League Meber” refers to persons who make financial contributions to Sakeliga, of a minimum of R300-00 per month, which amount can be adjusted by Sakeliga from time to time.

2.6 Platinum Member
“Platinum member” refers to persons who make financial contributions to Sakeliga of a minimum of R1000-00 per month, which amount can be adjusted by Sakeliga from time to time.

2.7 Premium Club

“Premium Club” refers to persons who make financial contributions to the Sakeliga of a minimum of R10000-00 per month, which amount can be adjusted by the Sakeliga from time to time.

 

Regular Donors

2.8 Those who join for membership and contribute less than the minimum threshold for membership (R100-00 per month), do not qualify as members but as “regular donors”.

 

Application for and acceptance of membership

2.9 Applications for membership are submitted in the following ways:

  1. Application via Sakeliga’s website; and
  2. Application by telephone engagements;

2.10 Membership takes effect as soon as it is accepted by the Sakeliga

    1. In the case of credit card applications on Sakeliga’s website, membership is accepted as soon as the first credit card payment is registered on Sakeliga’s financial systems;
    2. In the case of the debit order option, membership is accepted as soon as the member receives an acceptance email from Sakeliga.

2.11 A cooling-off period of (five) 5 days after acceptance of membership applies during which membership can be cancelled without the member being liable for payment of membership fees.

 

Membership Fees

2.12 Depending on the payment option and payment frequency selected, membership fees will be collected monthly or annually by debit order or recurring credit card payments. Members must ensure that sufficient funds are available for the deduction on the relevant day of the deduction.

2.13 Members who use electronic transfer payments (EFT) or cash payments to pay membership fees to Sakeliga bear the responsibility to timely transfer such payments monthly or annually, as the case may be, to Sakeliga’s nominated bank account.

2.14 The monthly or annual membership fees that are deducted or payable to Sakeliga, whatever the case may be, are as chosen by the member in accordance with the membership level and associated membership fee on the day of joining.

2.15. However, Sakeliga is in a position to change the minimum fee for the various membership levels from time to time. In such cases, members are not obliged to accept the adjusted membership fee but may be asked to agree to the adjusted fee.

2.16 A member who does not consent to fee adjustments made from time to time will not be disqualified from being a member by virtue of this reason. However, the failure or refusal to agree to the adjusted fee may result in a member’s membership level changing, or in the membership being converted to a “regular donor”.

 

Termination of membership

2.17 Members may terminate Sakeliga membership at any time by:

  • E-mailing members@sakeliga.co.za with notice of at least 30 days. Emails must include the member’s name, surname and contact number.
  • Credit card members: Cancel credit card payment online, and notify members@sakeliga.co.za.

2.18 Sakeliga reserves the right to terminate a member’s membership for any reason without notice. In such a case, a member’s payment obligations will summarily come to an end.

3.1 By applying for membership at Sakeliga, members automatically agree to Sakeliga’s Privacy and Copyright Policy.
